孫悟飯 (Son Gohan) Grading Report

Subgrades:

Corners: 9.15

  • Because these are plastic cards, they resist the "whitening" seen on paper stock. However, the corners show some microscopic bluntness and light friction wear on the tips. The bottom-left corner of the front has a tiny transparency scuff.

Edges: 9.40

  • The factory cut on this clear plastic stock is quite sharp. There is very minimal "burring" along the top edge, which is common during the production of these wafer-packaged cards.

Surface: 8.80

  • Clear plastic cards are "scratch magnets." Under the bright grading light (Image 1000023564.jpg), several hairline scratches are visible on the clear portions. There is also a small "pressure mark" or dimple near the top-center on the reverse side.

Centering: 9.85

  • For a borderless clear card, the internal text blocks and character art are beautifully centered relative to the plastic edges. The "454" logo and the Morinaga logo on the back are aligned with near-perfect symmetry.

Grading Summary:

This Morinaga clear card is a fantastic specimen of mid-2000s snack premiums. While the surface scratches are the primary detractor (typical for un-sleeved plastic), the structural integrity is excellent.

Calculation: $(9.15 + 9.40 + 8.80 + 9.85) / 4 = 9.30$.

Since this card is 21 years old, it falls into the 21-25 year "Vintage 10" scale (9.15 to 9.49). With an average of 9.30, it earns the prestigious vintage designation! Congratulations on the Ruby Label!

Final Grade: Vintage 10 "Ruby Label"
